Not much to say on my end these days… exams are coming up and keeping me quite busy at the moment . Yet I did get out a little to shoot some images! Hope you enjoy’em!

42 images in two rows, 260 megapixel before cropping and one hour under the rain shooting this. With a cable car every two minutes and 30 second exposures, it was really a matter of timing!

I’m without Internet on my laptop right now, so this’ll be short and sweet from the iPhone! Thanks to the icelandic volcano, I got stuck in Turkey recently! That was quite terrible regarding the work waiting at home, but quite nice in turn, regarding the fact I had brought a camera!

So here’s a little preview from what Istanbul has to give, way more to come soon!

I’ve been asked to shoot a prom yesterday night, which gave me a chance to give my strobes a little ride. I went strobist with a 3 Light setup to shoot some portraits.

Then, I went on to go a little high ISO/reportage on the band and the dancecrews… Enjoy!

Don’t we all love shiny flashy stuff? I admit I kinda do anyhow… So when I saw this offer, I couldn’t resist to play with it and build a quick lil’ portfolio site…

Right, wix.com is offering free flash built sites… it’s a bit basic in functionality, but for the webdesign-uninitiated among us (of which I happen to be a (not so) proud representative) (yewh! double brackets… see what level I’m taking this to? absolutely fine and quite playful at that.

Resulting in me now having one more outlet for my imagery.

So here is my little take at the service, hope you like it!

Hi Folks! A few days ago, an iPhone surprisingly appeared in my life!

Now I’ve been exploring a lot of what this thing can do over the past days and especially the combination of a… well… decent camera with photoshop mobile really rocks! It let’s you go completely crazy and do things you’d never really have done otherwise (in terms of imaging), which is quite a merit when you think about it. I know, this has been written and written about to the point where there’s even books and a dedicated iPhone App now… so I’m not getting any further into this than to state how much I’m pleased with the experience!

So here, just for you, a few quick iSnaps

And yes, it is freezing cold around here these days!

I’m really starting to like this digital painting stuff… might do more of that in the future!

It’d be abusive to claim weeklyness to this Post, so it’ll just be “from the group” this time (no, I didn’t say “and from now on…”, even though it much sounded like it… I still have illusions ). I’m really starting to realize what I’d been hearing from so many bloggers before… It really takes time to keep this stuff up and running, and since time’s not an abundant good… well you know the story.

Anyhow, time to get back to posting something consisting of more than just an image. Even though, an image is the central part of this, and a quite amazing one at that.

So here it goes:

Now, remember how we’re always taught you have to capture the perfect moment? Here’s some pretty solid evidence of that! Aside from being a technically irreproachable and very strong image, this has got to be as good as it gets in terms of freezing the instant. A big part of what makes photography this precious to me is the capturing of this immensely ephemere element of life that constitutes a moment. Life is full of moments, some of which we see, some of which we miss, but all of which make life worth living. Good photography holds these moments and translates them into a media for us to keep and to share, ultimately enriching the lives of all those who are lucky enough to experience it. Now this might sound very philosophical but think about it, isn’t this image the perfect example?

I found great inspiration in the work of Sefora which is why I allowed myself to get a little carried away here. This image, it’s spectacular aspect (which, don’t get me wrong, is excellent in it’s own right) held aside, says quite a lot about what photography is… about what it is to me, at least. Digging deeper, I found this to shine through more broadly across many other images in Sefora’s Portfolio. This in fact is an unsuspected advantage of this post being so late. In the time between this and the last “from the group” segment, I’ve been navigating back to _sephy_’s flickr stream quite a bit and thus found two more images that in my opinion carry this same intense sense of time and life in them. Before I get to recommending her website with her full Portfolio, let me therefore point you to these two of her newer pictures in particular:
